There was controversy down at the river today as our friendly, neighbourhood vicar ended up underwater during a group canoeing session. One observer claimed that James was standing up and jumping on his canoe and was seen to 'overbalance'. However, James believed the whole situation was decidedly fishy! Will we see the Reverend's Revenge when we tackle raft building...
With today's increase in temperature and the appearance in the sky of a strange, yellow sphere the children's morale has reached new heights! All the children continue to tackle every new challenge they face with bravery and gusto whilst maintaining the highest standards of behaviour. In particular, these children have displayed actions worthy of celebration:
Ryan (Y5) - has been role-model for all other children through his politeness and good manners. Without being asked, he displayed the value of respect as he tidied up at each activity session by collecting up a fair few harnesses!
"I loved climbing today because I felt I wouldn't go really high but still managed to get half-way up!" - Ryan
John (Y5) - displayed the value of generosity by offering his last go on the giant swing to a friend.
"My favourite part of the day was the giant swing. Although I was worried, it was surprisingly brilliant because it wasn't as high as I expected!" - John.
Emily (Y5) - persevered today as she tackled the trapeze. As she prepared to jump she got an attack of 'wobbly legs', took some deep breaths, jumped, and caught the trapeze!
"I loved the leap of faith onto the trapeze because I managed to grab it and it was great fun!" - Emily
Aspen (Y5) - also persevered on the trapeze. She was very unsure before the leap of faith, controlled herself, leapt, and succeeded!
"My favourite part of the day was the trapeze because I started off really, really scared and cried at the top but when I grabbed the swing I felt so proud!" - Aspen
Jake (Y5) - displayed the value of responsibility in successfully organising himself for all four activities and trying his best in every session.
"I saw the cute ducklings when I was canoeing and I loved it because we got to float down the river with them!" - Jake.
