Yesterday we went pond dipping and caught lots of different and amazing creatures. In the evening we played cops and robbers or made bottle top bugs.
This morning we have been put into groups and have learnt about decomposition. We then made compost bottles.
We are having a great time at Shortenills.
See you tomorrow -byeeeeeee

Class 4 have had another brilliant day in glorious weather. They have been pond dipping and collected many mini beasts from this habitat causing a lot of excitement. All children, without exception, are very happy and have enjoyed Shortenills so far. They have been a real credit to our school.
We have had a great day today. This morning we went on a long walk and found loads of mini-beasts and archaeological evidence of the Saxons. This evening we have had a blazing campfire and James and Miss Gehnich taught us lots of amusing songs - to top it off we toasted marshmallows. We are now ready for bed and having delicious hot chocolate before going to sleep in our dormitories.

Although a little late, the children arrived safely at Shortenills. We are greatly enjoying the outdoor life with the sun beating down on us and having the opportunity to engage full time in outdoor activities. The children particularly enjoyed orienteering (although I wouldn't recommend they read the map to navigate you on your summer holidays!) and have collected plenty of firewood for our campfire tonight.
The children enjoyed a hearty lunch with lovely home made pizza and jacket potatoes as well as a cooked breakfast this morning. To reassure you, all children went to bed happily in their dormitories and had a great night's sleep.
There will be a further update from some of Class 4 tomorrow morning!
KS1 will be taking part in the Cross Country at Speen on Thursday 23rd, 1pm - 3pm
